Tomato Ringspot Virus (ToRSV)

Our first webinar of 2024 focused on Tomato Ringspot Virus (ToRSV), a virus that is becoming an increasing concern in parts of eastern Canada but is still not widely known or understood. However, it is currently a regulated pest according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

Dr. Marc Fuchs of Cornell University provided us with a "Tomato Ringspot Virus 101", while Dr. Tom Forge, a Research Scientist in applied soil ecology and nematology at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Summerland Research & Development Centre, elaborated on vectors of ToRSV, and best management practices.
