Canadian Grapevine Certification Network (CGCN) is a Canada-wide not for profit organization comprised of members from Canada's four provincial grape growing associations. It's our mission to ensure high quality, certified disease-free grapevines in Canada.
Our Mandate
CGCN was incorporated in 2017 with a mandate to:
Create a clean plant network for domestically certified Virus-tested and pathogen free grapevines in Canada.
Promote, coordinate and direct financing towards research on a national scale for the benefit of the Canadian grape and wine industry.
Advance Canada's grape and wine industry by ensuring a sustainable domestic supply of certified propagative grapevine material.
Become CertifiedAction Plan
CGCN holds the Canadian Grape & Wine Science Cluster through AAFC's Canadian Agricultural Partnership for research into topics such as virus, cold hardiness, soil water and crop quality and improving Canada's wines.
CGCN is the recipient of $2.3 Million through AAFC's AgriAssurance Program for help in creating a clean plant Protocol for grapevines across Canada.
