The Canadian Grapevine Certification Network (CGCN) is a national not-for-profit corporation incorporated February 13th 2017. The objective of the CGCN is to advance the Canadian grape and wine industry with a sustainable supply of certified propogative grapevine material. Founding members of the CGCN are well established provincial industry associations:
- British Columbia Wine Grape Council (BCWGC)
- Grape Growers of Ontario (GGO)
- Quebec Wine Council (CVQ)
- Grape Growers Association of Nova Scotia (GGANS)
The Canadian Grapevine Certification Network (CGCN) has applied for funding under the AgriScience program led by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in order to develop a strategy for best management practices in the vineyards with researchers and industry. The application was submitted January 8th, 2018 and a decision is expected in spring 2018.
